We hereby take this opportunity to introduce our organization to you and hope that in the near future we could have the chance to work together for the mutual benefits of our people. Kwagalana Community Foundation. is a nonprofit and community-based organization; it is duly registered by the district as a CBO with a mandate to support and empower orphans, impoverished and vulnerable children. And trying to uphold the standards of living for the local communities. Currently, we are running several projects in areas of Ndejje villages key amongst them is the primary school.
It is proper and right to work with Kwagalana Community foundation (KWCF) in building a permanent center in UGANDA, AFRICA.
This is because the feeling of the street children outside there where there is no shelter and security is covered so much by hopelessness and helplessness and as a result of this they have no option but to leave on the streets with tough and miserable lifestyles without a future. In Kampala as well as the other major cities of the world, street children go through problems of begging, from one street to another, this is done mainly by the younger street children between 5-14 years old. In the process of begging the children prefer to be given money rather than food. Other street children involve themselves in other activities such as; Stealing, pickpocketing, prostitution, tramping, and violence. In such activities, some children get sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS, some face mob justice from public and others end up in hands of police where they are beaten and taken to the cells.
I believe that this is a divine purpose of the Kwagalana community foundation to shelter, transform, and involve the children to mold their own lives in a good and comprehensive center. With such a center, we shall remove the children from painful experience and life-threatening conditions that street children undergo by being labeled in a negative or wrong perception by the public when they are looked down thus they are called rubbish scavenger, or hooligans, vagabonds and a group of people prone to committing crimes and as the result, they became a target of harassment by law-enforcers whereby they are beaten and detained. In such an environment the government has done little to make a difference to the plight of the street children. An attempt to solve the problem of street children has been put in several areas. One area is the rehabilitation of the children by taking them off the streets, accommodating them in a center compacted with training, educate and reuniting them with their families.
Another area is rehabilitation through residential institutions or individual contacts without reuniting them with their families. The third area is by simple sympathy where many organizations deal with extreme causalities of the phenomenon without attempting to take the children off the street. The fourth area, is an attempt to work in and through the children own organizations or gangs by giving them gifts during holidays and visiting them without an aim of removing them from the streets. The fifth area is where some organizations operate in isolation or with local communities where the children live without necessarily changing the living standard of the children.
Kwagalana community foundation plans to participate where we want to have far-reaching and rehabilitate the children and deal squarely with the causes of their problems and involve them in the transformation of their life plus. The foundation has brought major changes in the lives of the children by greatly moving children through good and positive changes in their life. The major changes comprise participation in education from Kindergarten or nursery school, eating good and healthy food, clothing, a shelter for the few orphans, love and care change of attitude and behavior, medical care, security, participation in Christianity and mostly creating a vision for own life with self-confidence. With such experiences within the children, the KWCF urgently needs a compacted center to accommodate and empower the talents of the children for their life now and in the future. We believe that Together we can change the lives of children in Uganda
It is our sincere hope and prayers that one day the organization will be able to give out quality service to all the under privileged persons especially children from poor families, youths , elderly and women . We hope that providing technical know how and education will also become an everlasting solution to the problems affecting these communities under our outreach . Which will be at the forefront of fighting the problems, such as:-
Uganda being a developing country with a large number of people approaching to 40 millions rural areas are stricken with absolute poverty as they have farming as their source of income and it is mainly substantial , depend on small scale farming with poor methods of farming , the people of our communities can’t afford to take their children to good schools for quality Education due to high costs of education characterized by private schools which are considered to deliver quality education , and thus we needed to set up a well-equipped structured school for the unfortunate ones based school.
All clinics in our area are run by business people and this means that the poor people can’t access treatment, something that we hope with help from organizations like you, we could set up a clinic that can help the children in the school and the surrounding population.
With increasing number of children being orphaned in our country, mainly due to HIV/AIDS, many rural children were not accommodated and did not use to attend any form of education. Hence to this we have reached to more than 900 kids in total and so far we have been able to help out 150 vulnerable and orphaned children in communities of our outreach who are orphans and many more who are disadvantaged due to family poverty.
Though a problem in Uganda, our research showed that rural people are far down literacy ladder.

Thus all our work is a charity based, helping vulnerable, impoverished and orphans in the community and we also try to look for partners to improve the livelihood of residents in the communities
Kwagalana community foundation admits children who beg in the streets of Kampala. When admitted the children are between 5 and 13years old. They have neither attended school nor any other educational institution. Currently, 150 children are under the foundation aged between 4 and 13 years. The children come from different parts of life situations. Some of the children are orphans, neglected, abandoned and others are brought up by single parents or step-parents or guardians, who are unemployed. Sexual harassment, drug abuse, prostitution, and crime are present everywhere and vulnerable children can’t defend themselves. The number of AIDS orphans is increasing. However; shelter, clothes, food, and medical assistance are not even sufficient and some families cannot afford to educate their children.
All our efforts are directly aimed at creating an environment for every child to live happily around the country as we grow up with time. With special interest on the children, youths, and women in Uganda.
We require is –
* Assistance to purchase land and build a free educational school for the orphans, vulnerable and impoverished children in Uganda
* Assistance to acquire more qualified teachers
* Assistance to start up self-help project (such as poultry, dairy farming, brick making, and other small income-generating projects.)
* Boarding registration with the corresponding Ministries. * Funds for secondary school
* Fund for starting a proper clinic.
The water source for constant water supply and a tank for water storage
* Assistance to purchase land to build a safe and loving home for orphans
Help and empower the vulnerable, impoverished, orphaned and needy children to change their living conditions.
Provide a safe conducive environment where people of different walks of life can live in a harmonious environment helping each other prosper in their individual capacity.
Establish a free educational school in Uganda thus this will provide an opportunity for the vulnerable and orphaned child to have education
Establish a self-help income-generating project for the school and the community at large.
Building a safe and loving haven for the orphans, vulnerable and homeless children
Establish a vocational institute thus offering children/youth training institutions for mechanical, catering, tailoring, designing and computer knowledge to the community / in Uganda
To empower families through opening up projects that will help to sustain widows and impoverished in order to fight poverty.
